Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Information Governance Systems Analyst is responsible for the operational aspects of data movement and access control. This position assists lawyers and staff around the world with information mobility (file transfers), document access requests, information barriers, legal holds, preservation orders, non-disclosure agreements, claw backs, protective orders, data collection projects, and the retention and disposition of client records in compliance with Firm policies. This position acts as a liaison between lawyers and IT regarding issues of electronic records organization, access, retention, and disposition.


This role requires extensive knowledge of electronic legal recordkeeping and experience with technology solutions related to records management and tactical project skills to ensure the integrity of records and related metadata over the required lifecycle of records as information systems are upgraded or replaced. The position will be responsible for creating and maintaining compliance procedures, documentation, educational materials, and a portfolio of internal controls pertaining to information governance requirements. This position is expected to track key performance indicators to measure the state of compliance with information governance requirements and prepare related reports on a regular cadence.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Management, Information Science, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of information management (including electronic data), experience in a law firm and/or Information Governance Professional certificate required.
  • Experience with records management software, document management and data management solutions such as Filetrail, IRM, Intapp (Walls, Activity Tracker, Legal Holds), iManage, Prosperoware (Milan, Zone Bulk Email Import, CAM, Desktop Export/Import) and RBRO (Import/Export Management) is required.
  • Substantial familiarity with Microsoft Office products, SQL databases and SharePoint required.
  • Expertise with ServiceNow, Microsoft SQL Reporting Services or Power BI is a plus.
  • Ability to work well with lawyers and staff in a professional service setting, including maintaining remote working relationships with others around the world.
  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to set priorities, flex with changes in requirements and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle pressure in a constructive and positive manner and contribute to creative resolution of problems as they arise.
  • Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and commitment to professional growth for self and others.
