Design Construction Management Project Planning Supervisor (Hybrid Schedule)
Supervises and provides guidance and work direction to Planning and Project Management staff engaged in planning, managing and coordinating additions to and modifications of Company gas and electric facilities from initiation to close out. Responsible for supervising compliant and timely preparation of all project documents for a portfolio of up to several hundred projects of varying size and complexity. Projects range from the simple and lowest-cost property owner/residential projects to the complex commercial and municipal projects. Provides guidance and direction on applicable tariffs and regulations, project management methodology, company policies and procedures and systems. Manages allocation of work and alignment to projects and organizational units.
Distribution Design Advisor (Hybrid Schedule)
Acts as a design expert whereby the employee may be recognized as the technical authority for distribution design within the Company. Assists designers to prepare detailed technical designs up to those that are most complex for additions and modifications to company gas and electric facilities from onset through completion of project. Ensures design team prepares the most complex construction orders with safe, reliable, and cost-effective designs that conform to company standards, safety orders, and governmental regulations. Serves as a liaison between departments to streamline process and procedures. Mentors and coaches other designers, planners and project managers on matters related to design.
Field Construction Advisor (FCA) – Electric
Acts as the primary interface between SDG&E, the contractor, and its customers. Oversees overhead and underground electric distribution, transmission, and substation contractor construction. Reviews and submits Transmission and/or distribution switching requests. Works with planned outage coordination to identify customers who could be impacted during distribution outages. Works with project managers, Engineering, contractors and others to resolve construction issues during construction. Provides support to ensure projects stay on schedule and on budget.
Senior Technical Support Advisor (Hybrid Schedule)
Manages essential functions as a Central Point of Contact (CPOC) for the operation of the Electric Transmission Grid in a safe, reliable and economic manner. Manages critical support of real-time system operations and mandatory NERC/WECC reliability standards. Requires a complete understanding of the Outage Coordination (OC) scheduling system, SDGE Electric Transmission Grid, transmission operations activities, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system that uses the Energy Management System (EMS) and field Remote Terminal Units (RTU). Manages communication between SDGE, the California Independent System Operator (CAISO), Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) and all related utility Transmission System Operators with respect to system issues and outages.
Senior Engineer – Civil Site Development (Hybrid Schedule)
Position will be filled on the Civil Site Development team.
Develops and implements utility system capital improvement projects, such as design and construction of substations, overhead or underground electric transmission or distribution systems, or gas transmission and distribution systems. Duties may include renovation of, and maintenance planning for existing facilities. Work includes participation with multidisciplinary project teams in planning, preliminary concept development, and detailed engineering design and bidding stages. Conducts preliminary surveys and prepares schematics and work drawings for the construction and maintenance of utility structures and facilities. Examines and approves engineering drawings and design calculations for utility structures and facilities to ensure compliance with sound engineering practices and applicable codes and standards; incorporates functional requirements into project designs. Writes scopes of work for consultant engineering contracts. Estimates cost of projects; writes contract scopes and specifications for lump sum or T&E construction projects; secures bids from contractors. Conducts periodic inspections of work in progress and advises construction supervisors and contractors on plans and specifications. Inspects existing utility structures and prepares reports on the condition, deficiencies observed, designs necessary for repairs and estimated cost of repairs. Reviews invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contracts; approves invoices for payment.
