Job description

TPAPT is recruiting Personal Statement specialists to work with students applying to competitive PA, Dental, and Medical School programs throughout the US. We are looking for experienced admissions essay helpers with a passion for mentoring and demonstrable experience helping to develop, craft, and edit essays and personal statements.

Prior experience as a mentor or tutor or prior admissions committee experience is preferred but not required. The candidate must be supremely reliable, an exceptionally strong communicator, and comfortable with "upward management." The role is part-time and can vary from a few hours a week to 15 hours per week. There is an onboarding process to orient and familiarize advisors with our process.

Compensation: $40/hr-$45hr

Responsibilities

  • Guide applicants on how to craft and develop their personal statement, experience descriptions, and other essays for PA school and other allied Med and Medical School programs.
  • Review applicants' essays and provide written feedback and revisions 

Requirements

  • An earned Bachelor's Degree in English or a related field (MFA, preferred)
  • Demonstrable expertise and experience with PA School admissions writing samples and personal statements
  • 3-15 hours per week of availability
  • Familiarity with remote learning through Zoom or a similar web-conferencing tool
  • Past experience mentoring, tutoring, or advising students
