The Zoe Report is seeking a remote, part-time Writer, Fashion & Celebrity News to cover celebrity news for our celebrity vertical. Day-to-day responsibilities include working closely with the Editorial Director to pitch and write celebrity and entertainment-driven content, including quick news hits, long-lead features, and smart evergreen roundups that appeal to TZR's audience via search and social platforms.
A sense of urgency, strong news judgment, and attention to which stories and angles resonate with the audience are essential, along with a desire to continue building TZR’s identity as a style-forward, smart, inclusive place for all women. The ideal candidate is passionate about writing, celebrities, and entertainment, and can produce multiple articles per day. Experience in a fast-paced digital newsroom environment and a desire to produce productive and creative content that gets seen is a must.
This is a position covered under a collective bargaining agreement between BDG Media, Inc., and the Writers Guild of America East.
Key Accountabilities:Write 2-3 celebrity articles of varying length per day on Fashion and Celebrity News Keep a finger on the pulse of all things celebrity news via social media, press releases, and exclusive announcements via your professional networkDevelop pitches and write compelling, clear ledes and nut grafs that draw the reader in to consume Fashion and Celebrity News Work closely with team members during tentpole events, such as awards season and fashion weeks
Candidate Profile: 2+ years of celebrity writing experience in digital mediaAbility to work up to 28 hours per week between the hours of 9 a.m and 5p.m EST Monday- Friday (and occasionally on the weekends, particularly during award season)Familiarity with best practices for search and socialAbility to write quickly, without compromising brand integrity or missionContacts in the fashion industryA sense of fun, urgency, and a can-do attitudeAbility to meet deadlines Familiarity with SEO best practices
