Job description

Take the Lead on a Product That Medical Schools Rely On

Join Acuity Insights as a Product Manager and help shape the future of One45, our clinical education platform used by leading medical and health science schools across North America and internationally.

This is a high-ownership product role where you’ll lead key parts of a mature product, driving execution, partnering cross-functionally, and making improvements that matter. You’ll ensure stability and performance in the product today, while contributing to ongoing product evolution.

If you enjoy complex systems, real user impact, and the satisfaction of making things work better, this could be a great fit. It’s also a strong next step if you’re looking to deepen your product management craft, grow into more ownership, and be part of a thoughtful, mission-driven team.

And if you’re looking to escape hustle culture? You’ll find a people-first company that values balance, invests in your development, and builds tools that truly serve learners and educators.

Where You’ll Make an Impact

One45 is a powerful, deeply embedded product that powers clinical scheduling, curriculum delivery, evaluations, and program operations across medical education. It’s been in use for over two decades, and while we’re actively modernizing it, our partners still rely on the current platform to run mission-critical workflows.

You’ll take ownership of core product areas like Scheduling, Medical Student Performance Evaluations, Grades, Lotteries and APIs, making sure they’re performant, well-supported, and evolving in the right direction.

This role supports a broader evolution in how our products work together, toward a more connected, intuitive experience for learners and educators. You’ll help improve what exists today while contributing to what’s possible tomorrow.

What You’ll Do

Drive Execution & Delivery

  • Own the full product development lifecycle for specific modules on One45
  • Write user stories, groom backlogs, and collaborate daily with Engineering
  • Pressure-test developer estimates and scope to drive delivery discipline
  • Balance bugs, feature work, and operational improvements
  • Coordinate internal and external launches as new versions replace legacy features

Support Stakeholders & Users

  • Serve as the go-to product expert for One45
  • Lead Customer Success/Support touchpoints and manage escalations
  • Collaborate with clients on validation and early adopter workflows
  • Represent the voice of our users across planning, support, and roadmap decisions

Contribute to the Product’s Future

  • Support ongoing product improvements and help bridge current workflows with future-facing updates
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal efficiency and reduce manual work
  • Think in systems, how features and capabilities connect, scale, and serve users
Who You’ll Work With

You won’t be building in a silo; you’ll be part of a collaborative, delivery-focused, product-minded culture. You’ll be led by Reham Fawad, the Director of Product (Program Experience), and partner closely with Cynthia Au Yong, Senior Product Manager, who is focused on shaping One45's future direction. You’ll collaborate daily with Engineering, Customer Success, Sales and Product Marketing.

Why This Could Be a Defining Step in Your PM Career
  • You’ll take full ownership of key product areas used daily by medical education programs across North America and internationally
  • You’ll help shape a product that’s actively evolving to better serve educators and learners
  • You’ll collaborate with experienced, thoughtful teammates who care deeply about product quality and user impact
  • You’ll have room to lead and room to grow, trusted with meaningful responsibility and supported by strong product leadership
  • You’ll make a tangible difference in the world of health education, shaping how the next generation of clinicians are trained
You Might Be a Fit If…

You’ve spent multiple years working on B2B SaaS products, ideally in environments with complexity, whether technical, organizational, or both. You’ve taken ownership of real product areas, driven delivery across teams, and made meaningful improvements for users.

You’re likely to thrive in this role if you:

  • Own outcomes, leading delivery with urgency, clarity, and follow-through
  • Feel at home in mature, multi-module products, including those with legacy systems and under-documented workflows
  • Ask the right questions before jumping to solutions, and validate before building
  • Collaborate naturally across functions, and challenge assumptions, especially with Engineering
  • Think in systems, not just features, you connect dots, reduce complexity, and look ahead
  • Balance empathy and practicality, you advocate for users, but also ship what’s realistic
  • Care about the why behind the work, and find energy in improving what others rely on every day

You don’t need 0→1 experience, but you should be someone who finds satisfaction in making what already exists work better, and in being a steady hand during transformation.

What Happens After You Apply

We review every application carefully, looking for people who are caring, curious, driven, and resilient. Whether you apply directly, are referred, or connect through a recruiter or hiring manager, you’ll receive equal consideration.

We don’t use AI to evaluate applications, though you may be automatically screened out if you don’t meet baseline requirements (e.g. Canadian residency and valid work authorization). In some interviews, AI may help with note-taking, but all evaluations and decisions are made by real humans.

Our interviews are two-way conversations. We want to understand your career, abilities, and goals, and help you assess whether this opportunity and team are the right fit for you. Ask lots of questions!

Steps in the Process

Our hiring process typically takes 2–4 weeks from initial conversation to final decision.

  • Application Review. A real person (our recruiter!) reviews your application for potential fit.
  • Intro Chat. An informal conversation with our recruiter to explore your career path, goals, and what you’re looking for, while giving you a chance to learn about Acuity Insights.
  • Hiring Manager Conversation. A deeper dive into your product management experience and approach with the Product leader who’s also the hiring manager for this role.
  • Case Study & Team Conversations. You’ll present a brief case study and meet 1:1 with future teammates to assess alignment and ways of working.
  • Decision. The hiring manager reviews feedback and typically makes a decision within 2–4 business days.
  • Offer & Reference Checks. If it’s a match, we move to offer, pending a digital reference check.
How You’re Supported
Compensation & Growth
  • Fair and transparent salary. The salary for this role is budgeted between $100,000 and $120,000 CAD, depending on experience, expected contributions, market benchmarks, and internal equity. This sits within a broader compensation band for the role, and reflects the scope and level we’re currently hiring for.
  • Investment in your future. Access employee stock options and share in long-term value creation.
  • Expanding your skills. Use a $3,000 annual learning budget for professional and personal development.
Flexibility & Well-Being
  • Work your way. Enjoy fully remote work within Canada, plus up to 6 weeks of international work per year.
  • Take meaningful breaks. Benefit from a two-week company-wide closure at year-end, self-directed vacation (most take 4-6 weeks per year), and an extra Friday off monthly from February to November.
  • Support your health. Access comprehensive benefits for you and your family from day one through Equitable Life of Canada and Nivati.
  • Plan for retirement. Join our GRSP matching program with contributions matched up to 2% of your salary.
Family & Community
  • Parental leave support. Receive a 16-week top-up beyond EI benefits, regardless of your role in expanding your family.
  • Leaders and a culture that prioritizes people. Work in a caring, inclusive environment that values and encourages work-life balance and continuous learning.
The Future We’re Building

At Acuity Insights, we believe everyone has incredible potential, and our mission is to help uncover and nurture it.

Imagine a world powered by everyone’s full potential. We’re working to create that future by building tools and insights that support holistic success for students, educators, and institutions around the world.

Our journey began with a bold idea: to improve how we assess people, not just by academic metrics, but by who they are. In partnership with McMaster University, we developed Casper in 2004 to measure the durable, human skills that matter in health professions and beyond. That vision came to life with the founding of Altus Assessments in 2014.

Meanwhile, One45 started in 1998 at the University of British Columbia, helping medical education programs digitize complex processes like curriculum management, scheduling, and assessment. Over time, it became a trusted partner to programs across North America and beyond.

In 2021, Altus Assessments acquired One45, and in 2022, we unified as Acuity Insights, a single, growing organization with a shared purpose and broader vision.

What started as two distinct products is now one integrated mission supported by our Analytics platform, which delivers actionable insights to drive continuous improvement across the learner journey.

Today, our solutions support students and institutions from admissions to graduation across North America, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand and Saudi Arabia.

As we continue to grow, we’re committed to being more than a software provider. We’re trusted thought leaders and valued advisors in higher education, offering practical solutions, strategic insights, and guidance that help our partners make confident, informed decisions.

Life at Acuity Insights

At Acuity Insights, you’ll be part of a team of 130+ professionals. While we primarily collaborate virtually, we foster strong social connections and opportunities for in-person co-working.
