Lead Operator

Ameresco has a new opportunity for a Lead Operator reporting directly to the Site Manager at a CHP plant.  Major equipment at the plant consists of two gas turbine generators with HRSGs, one steam turbine, three package boilers and associated balance of plant equipment.  The Lead Operator will work rotating shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the start-up of the new plant as needed.

• Ensure the Plant is run a safe manner.

• Operate the plant during shifts.

• Troubleshoot the plants systems.

• Be the first Point of Contact with our Navy Customer.

• Respond to plant upsets and return to normal operations.

• Operate the plant with-in Environmental Limits.

• Operate the plant using HMI Screens in a control room and out in the field.

• Determining maintenance required and reporting to Site Manager.

• Working with in Ameresco Asset Management Software System AssetPlanner©.

• Perform minor maintenance and Preventative Maintenance.

• Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum seven years of experience in power plants which produce both steam and electricity.

• Working knowledge of boilers, turbines, BOP equipment and water treatment.

• Ability to obtain Navy DBIDS for entry onto the Navy Site.

Additional Qualifications:

• Ability to use a computer for time cards, training, procedure retrieval, etc.

• The ability to work in different environmental conditions.

• Valid Drivers' License in good standing, issued by state of residence.

• Ability to successfully complete position training and testing requirements.
