The Independent Cinema Office (ICO) is recruiting for a new Chair of the Board of Trustees.

What are we looking for?
Professional experience and accomplishments in the film or media industries, business, or government Ability to build credibility with potential funders or sponsors An excellent collaborator, who understand innovation and risk A commitment to and understanding of the ICO's partners and mission Excellent diplomatic skills and an affinity for cultivating relationships and persuading, convening, facilitating, and building consensus among diverse individuals A role model, capable of holding people to account with excellent high-level influencing, interpersonal and communication skills The ability to be an effective public ambassador for the ICO Personal qualities of integrity and credibility, and a passion for film, television and the moving image. Service on the ICO Board is without remuneration, except for administrative support, travel, and accommodation costs in relation to Board members' duties. The Chair will be expected to be available for up to 8 days a year.
What will you be doing?
The Independent Cinema Office (ICO) is the UK’s national support body for independent cinemas, film festivals and exhibitors. We believe passionately that everyone should have access to cinema that nourishes the soul and changes lives. We are looking for a Chair of the Board of Trustees who shares that passion. Your previous governance experience will help shape the ICO’s future, working with the Board of Trustees and CEO Catharine Des Forges to ensure the organisation is strategically equipped to deliver its mission. We welcome applications from a wide variety of professional backgrounds, be it film, media, business or government. Most of our meetings are held on Zoom, with the occasional in-person meeting in London. We are open to a co-chairing model for this position.
