The American Diabetes Association (ADA) is seeking an Associate Director, Professional Engagement as part of our Science & Health Care team. Reporting to the Director, Program Development and Collaborations, the Associate Director will develop and oversee the work of the ADA's health care professional engagement initiatives. This grant-funded position will have several projects that address diabetes management and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities
Manage the strategic planning, direction, and development of the health care professional education pillar within large-scale ADA initiatives, including internal staff, vendors, sponsors, key opinion leaders and other stakeholders to develop and execute programmatic elements.
Develop and oversee train the trainer activities, including agenda development, speaker engagement, organizational outreach, promotions and program evaluation components.
Plan and deliver professional education through virtual webinars and workshops and in-person trainings.
Manage employees who oversee professional educational programs with rapid turnaround times so that key performance indicators are met successfully.
Manage advisory groups and/or planning committees and identify faculty to create programs.
Cultivate relationships with volunteers and partners to develop content, extend programmatic reach, and identify new areas of opportunity.
Manage external vendor relationships as appropriate.
Serve as a subject matter expert to assist Marketing and Communications team with program promotion strategies.
Manage post-program analysis, including budget reconciliations.
Participate in proposal writing and proposal review to secure funding for relevant projects.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of 7 years of program management experience.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with cross-functional teams, shifting priorities, and accelerated timelines.
Experience with coordinating in-person professional education events.
Experience with virtual programming, learning management systems, instructional design, learning engagement tools, and online platforms for professional education a plus.
Strong oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to help build and manage team productivity/cohesion. Enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
Experience leading national advisory groups and collaborating with senior-level volunteers.
Exceptional time management skills overseeing multiple, concurrent projects in a matrix organization.
Experience managing budgets and writing financial and grant reports.
Demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes while responding to changing circumstances and priorities.
Demonstrated ability to problem-solve.
Adept at using Microsoft Office Suite and cloud-based applications.
