The Licensed Commercial Insurance Agent is responsible for selling and servicing insurance policies to individuals and businesses. This role involves assessing client needs, providing insurance advice, recommending appropriate products, and ensuring that clients are properly protected against risks while insurance carriers can transparently underwrite risks. The agent must demonstrate strong sales skills to continuously meet goals month over month. Cultural fit is critical with a joint focus of maximizing profit and purpose: business missionaries.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development:
Actively pursue new clients through referrals, cold calling, networking, and lead generation efforts.
Conduct insurance needs assessments to understand clients’ coverage requirements.
Present and explain policy options to clients, highlighting coverage details, benefits, exclusions, and premiums.
Provide quotes for various types of insurance products, with a focus on trucking and other mission critical commercial policies.
Close sales by addressing client concerns, negotiating coverage terms, and finalizing agreements. Do so in a way that is good for the carrier and client.
Client Relationship Management
Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, using scalable and touchless strategies like email campaigns.
Perform periodic reviews of existing policies to ensure that clients’ coverage is up-to-date and meets their evolving needs, with an eye to upsell and cross sell value-add products.
Proactively communicate with clients about policy renewals, premium adjustments, and potential changes in coverage.
Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing client questions, concerns, or claims issues.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with the sales team and other departments to ensure smooth policy processing and exceptional client experiences.
Share insights and best practices with colleagues to help improve agency performance.
Education
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree a plus
Licensing
Active Texas Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license required.
Licensed in multiple states (preferred)
Experience
Previous experience in insurance sales, customer service, and working with various carriers is preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing and selling commercial insurance products.
In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance products, including property, liability, workers’ compensation, and specialty coverages.
Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships and establish trust.
Persuasive and sales-driven, with excellent negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and clients simultaneously.
Proficiency in insurance management systems (preferably Epic), CRM software, and Microsoft Office Suite including Excel.

Compensation And Benefits
45k- 55k a year
Salary: Base salary plus commission opportunities
