We are looking for a strategic and action-oriented Procurement Category Manager – Outbound Freight to oversee logistics procurement across the European cluster. In this key role, you will develop and implement sourcing strategies, manage supplier performance, and drive cost optimization while supporting sustainability goals.
This is a highly strategic role that combines category expertise with operational execution to deliver measurable value across the supply chain.
You define and implement a sourcing strategy for outbound freight in Europe
You analyze the market to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and align your approach with both global and regional procurement goals
You lead sourcing projects, select the right logistics providers and you manage contracts and ensure cost-efficiency and service quality
You reduce costs without compromising service and monitor spending and report key figures to the Cluster Procurement Director
You ensure reliable outbound transport for finished goods across the region and anticipate supply chain risks and act early
You work with different stakeholders and you support decision-making with market insights and strategic advice
Act as an ambassador of the IMP:ACT program over the 2025/2026 time frame
Be an active and highly motivated member of the Cluster Procurement Leadership Team, joining regular meeting, workshop, brainstorming sessions in line with the IMP:ACT program principles
What makes you great
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or a related field
Several years of procurement or category management experience in freight logistics (truck, liquid bulk, ISO tanks, containers)
Experience in multinational and matrixed environments
Strong knowledge of EU logistics suppliers and market indices
Comfortable in unstructured environments with limited data systems and strong negotiation and contract management skills
Strategic mindset with a focus on long-term category development and excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Flexible work location within Europe – this position can be based in Austria, Italy, Spain, or Germany.
