Position Summary: Oakmont Commercial, a subsidiary of Quaint Oak Bank, is seeking an experienced Commercial Mortgage Underwriter to evaluate and underwrite commercial real estate (CRE) loan submissions. This role requires a strong understanding of CRE financing, financial statement analysis, and credit risk assessment. The Commercial Mortgage Underwriter will review loan packages, assess borrower qualifications, and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze commercial mortgage loan submissions.
Evaluate deal structure, loan-to-value (LTV) ratios, and interest rate terms.
Assess borrower financials including personal and corporate tax returns, profit and loss statements, personal financial statements, and corporate documentation.
Perform risk assessments and determine creditworthiness of borrowers.
Ensure loan packages meet underwriting standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with loan officers, processors, and credit teams to gather and verify required documentation.
Generate and review basic credit memos.
Maintain accurate and detailed underwriting records.
Stay informed on market trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in commercial mortgage underwriting or a related role.
Basic understanding of commercial real estate (CRE) financing.
Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis and tax return review.
Familiarity with credit memo generation and loan structuring.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience with loan origination or underwriting software preferred.
