The Senior Social Media Manager is responsible for tactical plan excellence and accountable for tactical plan delivery, leading implementation and activation across social media buys. Their expertise ultimately drives highly effective outcomes for Goodway's Retail Media clients through the strategic design, implementation, and execution of social campaigns. Working closely with an Associate Media Director, you must possess both a strategic and operational lens that allows you to assist with building thoughtful, client-centric, and strategic campaigns, recommendations, and insights. 

What You’ll Do  

Strategic Media Activation and Optimizaton:

  • Strategic hands-on activation planning, execution, optimization, and management of social media buys aligned with comms strategy, customer journey, and audience insights.
  • Make activation choices and build implementation plan based on comms strategy and client's business goals, and effectively communicate reasoning behind those choices (e.g., spend allocations, bidding strategy, partners, data, audiences, platforms, publishers, and inventory).
  • Negotiate and secure best pricing for integrated, data-driven approaches that connect consumers to our clients.
  • Utilize client and proprietary data to enhance targeting and swiftly adjust investment and activation strategies based on performance.
  • Embrace a test-and-learn approach, scaling new buying strategies and exploring expansion opportunities while staying aligned with the comms strategy (e.g. betas)
  • Act as a technical expert in various tools, and tactics, with the ability to resolve complex troubleshooting and platform issues.
  • Activate campaigns strategically, guiding consumers along their journey while ensuring brand safety, fraud prevention, and data quality transparency.

Client Service:

  • Understand client's business goals and customer journey and develop comprehensive media activation plans aligned with client goals using extensive knowledge of Social
  • Anticipate client needs and analyze data to proactively offer innovative solutions and recommendations to drive their success.
  • Present campaign analysis and insights to clients when needed, addressing their concerns and demonstrating the effectiveness of activation planning.

Leadership:

  • Identify gaps and training opportunities within channel concentration and conduct training sessions or connect resources to address them.
  • Mentor junior or coordinator roles, ensuring adherence to best practices and excellence in Social media implementation planning and activation.
  • Provide operational outlook and strategic insights related to campaign function and success within the team.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other Channel Media Managers to optimize media holistically across all channels and platforms, delivering a consistent and cohesive consumer experience and optimizing business outcomes.
  • Work closely with Strategy/Planning to manage overall campaign delivery and provide optimization recommendations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to media planning, strategy, CX, and investment teams, communicating and collaborating effectively.

Thought-Leadership:

  • Contribute to broader discussions, actively shaping and refining commitments and standards for maximum impact.
  • Own key vendor relationships for Media Activation and assist in activation best practices (SME)
  • Be recognized as an expert in Social, providing impact beyond immediate client success team.
  • Actively participate and take a leadership role in the Social Co-op, ensuring your continuous professional growth, skill development, and meaningful contributions in your area of expertise.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic media activation, specifically in social.
  • Proficient in utilizing social platforms and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts effectively.
  • Proven experience in managing client relationships and providing strategic recommendations.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including mentoring and training junior team members.
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in social.
