  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI and Cognos, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.

We have an exciting opportunity open for Data Analyst II to work remotely from AR.


POSITION SUMMARY:

Our company is seeking a Data Analyst II to support regulatory requests. The successful candidate will have a strong background in data analysis and be able to collect, organize, and analyze large amounts of data to help us make informed business decisions. They will also be able to communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences, work with cross-functional teams, and use analytical tools and techniques to support our company's rate case strategies. Additionally, the candidate should have experience working with regulatory-type requests and an understanding of the regulatory environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on an important project that will impact our company's future. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collect, organize and analyze data related to the Rate Case to support rate design, revenue requirement analysis, cost of service studies, and other regulatory filings. Design, create, and deliver fully functioning reports.
  • Develop models and perform sensitivity analysis to support the identification of key drivers and scenarios for the Rate Case.
  • Create and maintain best practice security policies for all reporting platforms.
  • Assist in the preparation of data exhibits and testimony for the regulatory filing.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate that into quantitative problems.
  • Identify and communicate trends and patterns in the data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Provide support for ad hoc data analysis and reporting as needed.
  • Work with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and timely submission of regulatory filings.
  • Create business insights through data and reports.
  • Build and maintain all reporting in tools such as Power BI and Cognos.
  • Utilize data in respective databases to build easily digestible dashboards.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science is preferred or combination of education and equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ related experience in data analysis and reporting.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and SQL.
  • Friendly and effective communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with Power BI data visualization tool.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Business Oriented
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Data Modeling
  • Azure environment experience preferred
  • SQL Server/Oracle/Excel experience preferred
  • Self-Driven
  • Understanding of the utilities industry, regulatory filings, and rate cases is a plus.
  • Ability to work with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
