Job description

Position: Social Media Manager
Number of hours: 20 hours/week
Schedule: EST

Tasks required:

  • Assist in ideating and building monthly content calendars

  • Create engaging short-form content (Reels, TikTok, carousels, memes, stories)

  • Schedule and publish content across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook

  • Monitor trends and suggest creative adaptations for the company’s brand

  • Reply to DMs, comments, and brand mentions in a consistent tone of voice

  • Support community building through authentic interaction

  • Help moderate future brand-led groups (e.g., private Facebook communities)

  • Track competitor activity and viral trends in the tattoo/skincare space

  • Monitor engagement metrics and follower growth

  • Prepare short weekly performance reports with insights and learnings

Focus Channels:

  • Instagram: Main visual storytelling and engagement platform

  • TikTok: Trend-forward, short-form video for virality and discovery

  • Facebook: Support regular brand updates and community growth; potential to manage a private group

  • Reddit & Podcasts: Monitor discussions and suggest advertising opportunities


Success Metrics (KPI)

  • Growth in engagement rate and followers (Instagram, TikTok)

  • Consistent and quality content output

  • Fast, on-brand community response times

  • Content reach and virality, especially for Reels/TikTok

  • Initiative and trendspotting


Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field

  • Prior internship or freelance experience in social media, marketing, or content creation is a plus

  • Familiarity with managing brand accounts on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook

  • Proficiency in content creation tools such as Canva, CapCut, Lightroom, or similar

  • Understanding of platform algorithms and content trends, especially for Instagram Reels and TikTok

  • Basic knowledge of analytics tools (e.g., Instagram Insights, TikTok Analytics)

  • Ability to use scheduling platforms (e.g., Later, Buffer, or Meta Business Suite) is a plus

  • Strong copywriting ability with a witty, relatable, and brand-consistent tone

  • A good visual sense and understanding of brand aesthetics

  • Confident in creating and editing short-form video content

  • Comfortable engaging with audiences via DMs, comments, and mentions

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage content calendars and multiple deadline

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting

  • Comfortable receiving and applying feedback quickly

  • Passion or strong interest in tattoo culture, skincare, or lifestyle branding

  • Fast learner who stays up to date on social media trends

  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to contribute creative ideas

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
