About the role
As an Engineering Team Lead within Internal Services Engineering, you will play a critical part in running some of the teams that are responsible for services across TAG. This is a dynamic role that requires both technical leadership and visionary direction, and will champion the advancement and application of various key services that deliver value across the company.
By leading a skilled team of data and software engineers, you will unlock new possibilities in areas such as process automation, data ingestion, enrichment, log streaming, event data analysis and system-to-system integrations. Engineering Team leads need to be full-stack developers who are happy to identify and learn new technologies/frameworks in order to drive business value. What you’ll do
LeadershipManage the day to the day activities of a high-functioning engineering teamLiaise with key business stakeholders, identifying where additional value can be delivered incrementally over time within the owned subject areaTake ambiguous needs from the business and turn these into technical tasks to be completed by the engineering teamBe accountable for the successful daily execution of BAU Prod activity Work alongside other engineering team leads within the office of COO, contributing to the overall engineering and service strategy.People managementPrioritise tasks and communicate these to team membersMentor, coach, and inspire the engineering team resources within the wider organizationSupport the creation of internal SOW and track them through to completionSupport the team by owning and managing escalationsEngineeringAssist with Sprint ceremonies and management of the engineering teams backlogExplore new technologies to identify new patterns and trendsEnsure that best practice is followed by the team and pay back technical debtWhat we're looking forAdvanced stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence key decision-makersAble to balance short-term tactical demands against long-term objectives, particularly the avoidance of creating technical debtAble to say ‘No’ in potentially challenging situations and manage issuesProven programming skills and ability to train others in Java.
