Job description

Specific Responsibilities:

The primary project of the School Energy Efficient IAQ Intern will be assisting with analysis of the responses to a national School Energy Efficient Indoor Air Quality (EE IAQ) Professional Development Needs Survey. Responsibilities include: 

  • Manage survey data.
  • Clean and validate data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze survey data using multiple criteria, as agreed upon with supervisor (e.g. respondent role, geographic location, etc.) 
  • Create reports and visualizations to present findings.
  • Support the development of presentations summarizing data insights.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify trends and patterns in survey data.
  • Document processes and procedures related to data collection and analysis.

As a supporting task, the intern may assist with research related to updating the Center for Green School’s existing School District Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Management Plan Toolkit to include energy efficiency information and guidance that is relevant to IAQ management and the nexus between improving indoor air quality and energy cost savings for school districts.


 

Experience & Experience Requirements:

REQUIRED: Undergraduate or Graduate students whose studies and research interests include green building, environmental health, indoor air quality, energy efficiency, K-12 school operations and facilities, or another relevant field. Relevant coursework or experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods, synthesizing information, and summarizing technical findings is particularly important. 

Candidates should be currently enrolled in a college or university. At least four years of study at a college or university is preferred.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in data preparation and statistical analysis
  • Strong writing skills for reports and technical resources
  • Excellent organizational and computer skills (MS Office)
  • Proficiency in data visualization (preferred)
