Job Description

The AI Security Intern will participate in a structured internship program, focused on gaining hands-on experience in the field of AI security and governance. The intern will work alongside the Information Security team to support initiatives related to the safe adoption of AI technologies, risk identification, Ai tool assessments, and documentation.
This is a learning role intended to expose the intern to AI cybersecurity best practices, frameworks, and real-world corporate environments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

  • Participate in the evaluation of AI tools and services to identify basic security and compliance risks under the guidance of the Information Security team.
  • Assist with documenting AI tool usage inventories, model risk assessments, and vendor evaluations.
  • Support research efforts into AI-specific security risks (such as model poisoning, prompt injection, data leakage) and summarize key findings.
  • Help update AI security and governance templates (e.g., AI Risk Assessment forms, AI usage guidelines).
  • Attend team meetings and security awareness sessions focused on AI security topics.
  • Complete a final presentation summarizing internship learnings and contributions.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High School Diploma AND
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related field of study AND
  • Ideal candidates are rising juniors, seniors, or Spring graduates OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Interest in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence safety.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts (risk management, data privacy).
  • Curiosity to learn about AI technologies, models, and security challenges.
  • Strong written communication, research, and organization skills.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and willing to ask questions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to clear required background check

Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level.  Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections.  Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.

  • We anticipate the salary range to be $22/hr.
