Job description

Divergent is a technology company that has architected, invented, built, and commercialized an end-to-end factory system called the Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS™) that comprehensively uses machine learning to optimally engineer, additively manufacture, and flexibly assemble complex integrated vehicle structures and subsystems. Products created using DAPS are superior in performance, lower in cost, rapidly customizable to meet mission and customer-specific requirements, faster to market, and scalable on demand to high volume production. Divergent is a qualified Tier 1 supplier to global automotive OEMs, and Divergent is now expanding to support mission critical needs in the Aerospace and Defense sector. Join us to be a part of this transformative journey, where your impact will shape the future of technology and production.

Purpose

Divergent  is not just building better hardware—we’re rewriting how it gets made. Our platform, the Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS™), combines AI, additive manufacturing, and modular assembly to transform how complex aerospace and defense systems are designed, built, and delivered. Divergent is a qualified Tier 1 supplier in automotive and is now scaling to meet urgent DoD and national security needs.

The Role

As a Capture and Proposal Manager, you will sit at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and execution—owning the development of high-impact proposals that help define the future of aerospace and defense manufacturing. You’ll lead proposal efforts end-to-end, serving as both proposal manager and primary author, translating Divergent’s breakthrough technology into clear, compelling responses aligned to Government requirements. An exceptional writer, communicator, and collaborator, you will work across engineering, business development, contracting, legal, and executive teams to ensure messaging resonates with customer priorities and acquisition strategies.

Beyond proposals, you’ll wear many hats on a fast-moving team—supporting complex capture efforts through opportunity identification, analysis, and qualification; Government and partner engagement; and strategic execution to position Divergent for success across the defense landscape.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Content Development and Management:

  • Lead and own end-to-end proposal responses for DoD and other government opportunities (RFPs, RFIs, BAAs, OTAs, IDIQs, SBIRs, etc.), serving as primary author to translate technical concepts into persuasive language tailored to both technical evaluators and executive decision-makers
  • Develop proposal schedules and compliance matrices; organize large cross functional teams; coordinate reviews and own white glove / final submission processes
  • Support infrastructure buildout and knowledge management through template development, generalizable capability statements, and other communications materials; manage past performance and reusable content repositories for rapid proposal assembly

  • Familiarity with federal acquisition processes, procurement cycles, and government contracting frameworks
  • Skilled at synthesizing complex technical content into clear, concise, and persuasive narratives for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Highly organized and adept at leading cross-functional collaboration across engineering, contracting, legal, and executive teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., English, Business, or related discipline)
  • US. citizen eligible and willing to obtain a Secret or Top Secret security clearance
