About the National Service Office

The National Service Office is the central operational engine for two evidence-based programs: Nurse-Family Partnership and Child First. In 2020, what was formerly the National Service Office solely for Nurse-Family Partnership united with Child First, a merger empowering two proven models to share complementary expertise, infrastructure and integrated services. The resulting unified entity works to ensure that healthcare, early childhood development, and the mental wellness of the entire family are served in proven ways to achieve long-term positive outcomes.

Position Description

The primary purpose of the Director, NFP Programs position is to provide strategic and operational leadership to the NFP Program department with your ability to inspire trust and motivate people. This position is responsible for providing leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the program including education, model elements, and culturally responsive programming to ensure high-quality implementation across network partners. The position is responsible for ensuring that the goals and objectives as defined within the organizational strategic plan and as assigned from the Executive Leadership team are achieved, ensuring that network partners are implementing the program with integrity and serving families with quality, and that ongoing program quality improvement and operational efficiency through innovations and initiatives and budget management is occurring.

 

This position is remote and can be located anywhere in the United States, excluding California, Arizona, New York, Alaska, Hawaii, Montana, and Vermont.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

50% Organizational Leadership, Team Leadership & Strategic Direction: This role will provide leadership to the NFP Program Department by setting priorities aligned with the organization’s strategic plan. You will do this by participating in strategic planning and evaluation while encouraging staff to achieve goals and objectives while supporting creativity and innovation and requiring accountability towards performance and outcomes. You will facilitate a collaborative and collegial environment cross functionally, departmentally, and throughout the network. You will participate in internal and external opportunities that will extend the reach and knowledge about the NFP program. You will help to develop and implement strategies to support quality network partner growth and expansion including expansion, client enrollment and retention, and nurse retention and addressing issues that affect implementation and site performance. Evaluation of program support effectiveness and developing consistent implementation practices. You will lead and attend departmental and other cross-functional meetings. Responsibility for the departmental budget.

30% Program Development & Innovation: Lead Model Element reviews, revisions, and implementation to ensure alignment with research and network needs. Working collaboratively to develop and implement nursing education including curriculum design, evaluation, and continuous improvement. You will help to guide development and implementation of specialized program components to support quality program implementation. Ensure support for model implementation including documented responses to common fidelity challenges. You lead internal initiatives for learning within the network as well as participate and assist in implementation of other evidence-based approaches internally.

10% Research Partnership & External Relations: Serving as the department’s liaison to the Prevention Research Center at the University of Colorado (PRC). You will collaborate with the PRC and other research partners in research planning and implementation. You will collaborate with the network to ensure research integration into practice. Participation in programmatic research and/or publication committee activities, as necessary.

10% Team Leadership & Supervision: You will provide direct supervision and support to up to 4 direct reports and their team members. You will foster team development and professional growth through a collaborative environment. You will work with the team to coordinate their contributions to the implementation of the strategic plan. 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Health Administration, or a related field required
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience working as a senior leader within program management, development, and leadership.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in people management (direct or matrixed)
  • Minimum 8 years' experience working in the Nurse-Family Partnership program or other home visiting models
  • Proven knowledge and application of 
    1. change management principles
    2. standards, scope and ethics of nursing practice
    3. development, testing, implementation, integration, and evaluation of quality improvement initiatives
    4. research analysis and results
    5. implementation science principles
    6. innovative solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Experience developing and implementing client-centered programs and initiatives 
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal, written communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 30% dependent upon business need.

Desirable:

  • Background in program model development or revision 
  • Experience with reflective practice methodologies 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position reports to the Chief Network and Programs Office and has up to four direct reports.

 

Salary

  • Salary is determined based on experience and skill set. Geographical adjustments may be considered.
  • Range: $125,000 - $135,000/year
