Summary

The Senior Director of Poultry Nutrition and Procurement will lead the formulation, development, and implementation of advanced poultry nutrition strategies across all locations for 22 million egg laying hens. While also managing the sourcing and procurement of feed ingredients and related nutritional inputs. This role ensures optimal bird performance, feed efficiency, and cost-effectiveness through strategic ingredient sourcing and scientific nutritional planning

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee feeding programs.
  • Collaborate with our veterinarian, operations and feed mill teams to innovate and optimize diets for health and productivity.
  • Stay up to date with scientific developments, regulatory requirements, and nutritional technologies.
  • Manage procurement strategies for feed ingredients, additives, and supplements.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure quality, pricing, and continuity of supply.
  • Monitor market trends and risk factors in commodity sourcing.
  • Lead the procurement and nutrition team.
  • Create annual budgets for feed costs and ingredient purchases.
  • Develop sustainability and traceability programs for ingredients.

Education And/or Experience

  • PhD or MS in Animal Nutrition, Poultry Science, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in poultry nutrition, with 3+ years in leadership or procurement role.
  • Strong understanding of global ingredient markets and supply chains.
  • Excellent negotiation and team leadership skills.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of poultry
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements
  • Ability to travel to locations up to 25% of the time

Physical Demands

Stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 10 pounds frequently; sit, climb, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment

This position is primarily remote.

When visiting sites the role is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. Temperature varies in relation to the outside temperature. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Proper personal protective equipment will be required during certain working conditions.
