JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary: The Senior Director, Government and Business Relations will be responsible for (a) managing all government relations activities for SBTPG, including relationships with the IRS, state departments of revenue, CERCA, and other industry trade associations and groups, (b) owning certain client relationships, and (c) managing certain other operational projects from time to time. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to understand the needs of the business and our partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain key relationships with the IRS, state departments of revenue, CERCA, and other trade associations and committees.
Advance SBTPG’s interests in all government relations activities.
Coordinate with others in the industry to drive collaboration.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify key business questions and develop analytical solutions to address them.
Update management on government relations trends and opportunities.
Develop business plans for various opportunities that may arise related to government relations activities and own those projects (such as attempting to bring back the Debt Indicator and ensuring the ongoing viability of the Fast Forward product).
Assist in client relationship management with certain partners as determined from time to time.
Assist in the development of certain new revenue initiatives.
From time to time, assist in certain operational aspects of SBTPG.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations based upon the other government and business relation duties to support business objectives.
Stay updated with the latest trends in government relations.
Document processes and maintain comprehensive records of methodologies.
Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in any area.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in the government relations area.
Some experience in non-government relations roles in any operational aspect.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in the tax industry.
POSITION TYPE
RegularPAY RANGE
The targeted base salary for this position is $183,000 to $274,500 per year. The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.
