Brown and Brown is seeking an Associate Director of Regulatory & Legislative Strategy to join our growing team!
The Associate Director of the Regulatory & Legislative Strategy team is a member of the Brown & Brown Regulatory & Legislative Strategy leadership team and is responsible for directly supporting the team’s regulatory research and analysis and connecting directly with team members across the organization. This includes duties such as aiding in the curation and dissemination of related thought leadership written pieces, compliance tools and team member/client resources and deliverables. The Associate Director will also oversee the strategic third-party partnerships process and align and provide leadership in managing regional/local liaisons by providing continuous and ongoing education, building a system to develop proficiency in team members, and provide ongoing team member/client solution support. Finally, the Associate Director will be proficient in employee benefit laws such as the Affordable Care Act, the Health Insurance and Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), ERISA, COBRA, Transparency in Coverage rules, No Surprises Act, the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA), and more.
How You Will Contribute:
Develop, articulate, and provide advice on the overall intent and meaning behind the regulation/legislation that governs an employee health & welfare benefit plan.
Work closely with the Vice President of Reg/Leg to implement and direct a strategy to educate, connect, and execute the delivery of important Regulatory & Legislative Strategy guidance and resources to team members across the country.
Stay abreast of any newly released laws, rules, and regulations related to health and welfare benefit laws.
Daily, respond to team members/Brown & Brown employee questions related to the laws, rules and regulations related to health & welfare benefit plans.
Regularly support the Regulatory & Legislative Strategy team by assisting with the Regulatory & Legislative Strategy group inbox daily, and timely respond and deploy resources to Brown & Brown team members' emails from customers.
Contribute to articles/guides related to the laws, rules and regulations that apply to health & welfare benefit plans for customers.
Contribute to creating compliance presentations related to the laws, rules and regulations that apply to health & welfare benefit plans for customers, prospective customers/team members, and employer groups and present on those topics.
Focus heavily on the writing and research of the more complicated topics related to the laws, rules, and regulations related to health & welfare benefit plans.
Collaborate with other departments including the population health and wellness team, pharmacy team, actuarial team, operations teams, communications, marketing, and any other stakeholders the Regulatory and Legislative Strategy team work with internally at Brown & Brown.
Oversee and make recommendations for appropriate partnerships with vendors that assist with employee health and welfare benefit compliance matters.
Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
Excellent oral and writing skills, with significant experience in writing, reviewing, analyzing and summarizing complicated laws and regulations related to health and welfare benefit compliance, with a proven record of critical thinking and application of the rules.
8+ years of applicable benefits experience, specifically focused in the areas of benefits compliance.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

Pay Range
$150,000 - $200,000 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
