The People & Culture Generalist supports the employee lifecycle and organizational culture within dedicated Specialist Area. This role balances day-to-day People & Culture support with strategic initiatives that foster engagement, retention, and compliance across multiple client-facing teams.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Partner with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition to support workforce planning and timely hiring aligned with client needs. 

  • Act as a trusted partner for employees and frontline leaders, addressing workplace concerns and guiding resolution within a performance-oriented and compliant framework. 

  • Analyze engagement data (e.g., surveys, turnover trends) and partner on culture-building initiatives to improve retention across client-aligned teams. 

  • Ensure compliance with employment laws (federal/state) and client-specific policies; support audits as needed. 

  • Assist in developing and updating HR policies and SOPs tailored to program-specific nuances. 

  • Support performance review processes and coordinate with leaders on goal alignment and feedback cycles. 

  • Assist in the development and delivery of training initiatives (compliance, leadership, soft skills) tailored to the commercial field force or internal operations. 

  • Serve as a liaison between internal HR and client program leaders, helping ensure the People & Culture function aligns with client expectations. 

  • Support transitions such as program launches, expansions, or wind-downs with workforce and change management planning. 

  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. 

  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. 

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. 

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. 

  • Assists managers with guidance, and direction through different processes 

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • 2-3 years of HR Generalist, preferably within a CSO, CRO, or fast-paced services environment. 

  • 2 years of managing complex employee relations issues. 

  • Solid understanding of U.S. employment law and HR best practices. 

  • HRIS experience, preferably Workday. 

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills. 

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, client-driven environment with constantly shifting priorities. 

  

Preferred Skills & Attributes 

  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification. 

  • Experience supporting field-based or commercial pharma teams. 

  • Exposure to client SLAs or working within a matrixed service delivery model.
