Senior Oracle APEX Developer

Job Description

As a Senior Developer experienced with Oracle APEX & Oracle PLSQL, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining an existing Oracle APEX applications that meet our clients' business needs. This role requires strong technical expertise in Oracle APEX and its metadata, along with a proven track record of delivering medium- to large-scale projects in enterprise environments.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including business analysts and quality assurance professionals—to ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain Oracle APEX applications, including customizations, enhancements, and new features.
• Database Integration: Integrate Oracle APEX applications with Oracle databases, ensuring efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
• Establish and Maintain best practice development standards and maximize reusable code.
• UI/UX Design: Create user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces using Oracle APEX’s built-in UI components and responsive design principles.
• Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure optimal application performance for end-users.
• Security: Implement robust security measures to protect data and comply with industry best practices.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate application functionality and performance.
• Documentation: Maintain design and Technical specifications, and code comments.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide technical expertise, and align with project goals.
• APEX developer must have the ability to design, install, and configure large, complex APEX applications with replication and high-availability on Oracle and APEX.
• APEX developer must have the ability to migrate existing applications, pages and code modules thru dev/qa/prod instances and experience migrating entire applications to new APEX environments.
• Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with the latest Oracle APEX trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
• Experience with Migrating Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports or Oracle APEX is highly desired, all experience with either/both is very favorable.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Oracle APEX development and database administration.
• Proficiency in Oracle APEX (21X to 24X version), PL/SQL (Oracle 19c to 23c), SQL, and database design.
• Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery).
• Knowledge of RESTful web services and integration.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Demonstrated initiative, good judgment, and the ability to work in a team or independently in rapid environment
• Oracle APEX certification (a plus, but not required).
• Highly Skilled with English, capable of discussing specifics at system and code level.
• Knowledge of Bitbucket or any Git Repository.
