Brief Summary of Role
Budget: USD 45-90/hour
Hard work, high standards, real impact. Our client is on a mission to redefine real estate insurance, and we’re looking for a motivated Senior Infrastructure Engineer to own and elevate our deployment, CI/CD, and DevOps practices. As the first dedicated infra-focused hire at a fast-growing startup, you’ll play a foundational role in shaping how we build, ship, and scale. If you’re passionate about helping developers move faster with greater confidence, read on. How We Show Up as a Tech Team
On our client's Tech Team, we show up for each other, in the quality of our work, and in the simplicity of our solutions.
Make an impact. This is a ground-floor opportunity to define infrastructure best practices, shape our architecture, and mentor the broader team.
Move fast, ship faster. We deploy multiple times per day. You’ll make that process even smoother, safer, and more scalable.
What You’ll Do (Right Away)
Own and improve the stability and speed of our CI pipeline like a hawk.
Set and uphold high standards around test reliability, coverage, and suite performance.
Drive practical improvements by:
Fixing flaky tests and stabilizing pipelines.
Leveraging and enhancing existing tools and infrastructure.
Helping the team stay accountable to infra-related tasks across sprints and the roadmap.
What You’ll Do (Longer Term)
Own and evolve our CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows (Semaphore, GitHub Actions, Heroku).
Introduce best practices around testing, monitoring, and automation to help engineers ship with confidence.
Build internal tooling and infrastructure to help engineers move faster with fewer distractions.
Partner closely with full-stack engineers to improve deployment ergonomics, reliability, and performance.
Enhance observability using tools like Checkly and Percy, and help guide us toward a stronger SRE posture over time.
Lay the foundation for scalable, reliable infrastructure as our team, product, and customer base grow.
Set and uphold high standards around deployment time, steps, and reliability.
What You’ll Bring
Years of experience as a software, DevOps, or infrastructure engineer, with deep expertise in CI/CD, automation, and deployment systems.
Experience with tools like Heroku, GitHub Actions, Semaphore, Checkly, or equivalents.
A systems mindset—comfortable designing processes that scale and improve developer productivity.
Strong coding chops—able to write scripts, manage infrastructure-as-code, and dive into application code when needed.
Clear communication, especially when translating infrastructure work into actionable next steps for engineers.
Startup-style ownership and hustle—you’re proactive, adaptable, and excited to build from the ground up.
This role is not for everyone. It’s for builders, enablers, and engineers who want to empower others while shaping something new. If that’s you, let’s talk.
