Work Environment The Senior Accountant is a hybrid eligible role that can be filled in any of our 6 locations - Bakersfield, CA., Reno, NV., Spokane, WA., Roseville, CA., Monterey, CA or Phoenix, AZ. Job Overview The Senior Accountant has a responsibility in supporting the Accounting Manager in meeting departmental goals and objectives and assisting with the development of workflows, policies, procedures, and internal controls within assigned area. Responsible for completing reports for both internal and external users to accurately reflect company operating results and financial condition. Internal reporting includes completion of financial statements from the trial balance, budget reports, productivity reports, cash flows and other special reports. External reporting includes filings to state insurance departments (i.e. annual statements, quarterly statements, premium taxes, statistical calls, etc.). Also includes the completion of reports to Federal, State and local agencies, and reinsurance companies and brokers. Requirements 3 - 5 years of work experience in accounting. Experience in accounting of insurance, finance or banking is preferred. Bachelor’s degree (or 5+ years’ experience) in accounting. Must have P&C Statutory Accounting Insurance Experience Proficient knowledge of statutory and GAAP accounting procedures including internal control and insurance regulations. Understand the concepts and terminology of insurance accounting. Display proficiency in the use of the SunGard Ledger package or a related ledger software. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with a focus on Excel, Word, and a basic understanding of network functionality. CPA required. Salary Range: $71,606 - $118,150 The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as benefits and bonus programs.
