Compensation

The compensation target range for this role is:

$83,900 - $98,657

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Merchandise Planning, the Merchandise Planning Manager is responsible for supporting all activities associated with managing demand plans for the DTC channel. This includes Ecommerce and Owned Showrooms with some Omnichannel analysis as well. They will provide analytical support to the merchandising team by strategically driving the business to maximize sales and margin as well as optimize inventory. The individual will demonstrate business agility and strategic thinking, leveraging internal and external data to make fact-based decisions. He/she will build/maintain effective cross-functional relationships with Sales, FP&A, Analytics and Supply Chain.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide strategic direction at the category level, both pre-season and in season, to ensure increased sales and profitability. 

  • Lead new product planning, inclusive of cannibalization and exit-strategy of outgoing product. 

  • Deliver in-season sales and gross margin results through accurate forecasting and promotional discount planning, analysis, and recommendations. 

  • Deliver category seasonal hindsight learnings and recommendations. 

  • Deliver returns and exchange analysis and recommendations. 

  • Manage weekly reporting requirements 

  • Develop, maintain, and update tools and reports to support the needs of the business. 

  • Partner and develop effective working relationships with product management, channel leads, FP&A and Supply Chain to optimize financial success and appropriate inventory levels. 

 

Requirements: 

  • 5 - 7 years’ work experience in Retail Merchandising Planning 

  • Demonstrated experience in retail data analysis and Open to Buy management 

  • Expert knowledge and capabilities in PowerPoint and Excel, with an ability to summarize large amounts of raw data 

  • Attention to detail, strong oral and written communication skills 

  • Proven self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment 

  • Ability to work autonomously 

  • Financial and Business Acumen: Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results; proficiency in retail math 

  • Possess good organizational and time management skills 

  • Planning and Priority Setting: Demonstrate an ability to set objectives and goals and organize work appropriately to meet and exceed goals 

  • Problem Solving & Decision ability: Able to use rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with creative & effective solutions
