SAP TM Senior Consultant – S/4 HANA Rollout (USA)

About The Project

We are supporting a German-headquartered global leader in the manufacturing of chainsaws and handheld power equipment in their full-scope transformation from SAP ECC 6.0 to S/4 HANA. The customer’s US operations, based in Virginia Beach, include a major production facility and six sales distribution centers across the country.

The S/4 HANA global template has been defined and is currently being rolled out to the United States. Our goal is to implement the system as closely as possible to the existing template, ensuring efficient adoption with minimal deviation.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior SAP TM Consultant with strong S/4 HANA experience to lead the Transportation Management (TM) workstream during the rollout. You will collaborate closely with EWM consultants and the client's internal teams. Your focus will be to ensure that transportation processes are accurately configured, tested, and adopted across the US entities.

This is a high-visibility role, requiring leadership skills, strong SAP TM expertise, and the ability to work effectively in an international team environment.

Responsibilities

Act as the Lead SAP TM Consultant for the US S/4 HANA rollout.

Configure and implement SAP Transportation Management (embedded TM on S/4 HANA).

Ensure adherence to the global template, minimizing customizations.

Gather business requirements, identify gaps, and propose best practice solutions.

Work closely with EWM, SD, MM, and other functional consultants to ensure seamless integration.

Provide guidance and training to business users on TM functionalities.

Support key project milestones: blueprinting, system configuration, testing (SIT/UAT), go-live, and hypercare.

Coordinate with German headquarters and other global teams as necessary.

Create documentation: functional specifications, training materials, configuration documents.

Lead and support change management efforts specific to Transportation processes.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of SAP experience, with a minimum of 4 years in SAP TM (preferably embedded TM on S/4 HANA).

Hands-on experience in at least one full-cycle S/4 HANA rollout.

Strong understanding of transportation planning, execution, freight settlement, and carrier collaboration processes.

Experience working with freight orders, freight units, transportation cockpit, planning profiles, and charge management.

Ability to work independently and lead discussions with the business and technical teams.

Excellent Communication Skills (English Fluency Required).

Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or related industries is a strong plus.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) integration.

Experience with global template rollouts and understanding template governance principles.

Prior experience with US-based manufacturing and distribution operations.

German language skills are a plus, but not mandatory.

This consultant will support MHP and the client in rolling out the customer S/4 HANA template in the USA.

The customer is using currently ECC 6.0 and it will be full scope transformation.

During the rollout the scope is to stick as close to the template as possible.
