About the role

Reworld is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Regional Operations Director to oversee the operations and performance of Thermomechanical Treatment Facility within a specified region. The Regional Operations Director will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and compliant processing of materials, the safety of our employees, and the achievement of production goals. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Operational Leadership: Provide leadership and strategic direction to multiple processing facilities within the south region, ensuring the highest level of operational efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Safety and Compliance: Support safety protocols, compliance with environmental regulations, and adherence to all company policies and procedures. Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement. 
  • Production Management: Monitor and optimize material processing operations to ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality standards and cost-effective processes. 
  • Budget and Financial Management: Monitor the financial performance of the facilities in the region, including budget development and cost control measures. 
  • Performance Monitoring: Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly evaluate facility performance, identifying areas for improvement and support corrective actions. 
  • Vendor and Supplier Management: Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure a reliable flow of materials, parts, and services required for facility operations. 
  • Environmental Responsibility: Promote sustainability and environmentally responsible practices within the facilities. 
  • Customer Relations: Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, addressing their needs and ensuring satisfaction. 
  • Reporting: Generate and present periodic reports on project development status to senior management.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, business management) or equivalent work experience. 
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in waste management or energy-from waste industies, manufacturing, or related industries. 
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and safety procedures. 
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. 
  • Financial acumen and experience in budget management. 
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Willingness to travel within the region as needed. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master's degree in a related field. 
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles and process improvement methodologies. 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb 

  • Ability to lift/carry 50lbs 

  • Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces 

  • Qualify to wear a full-face respirator  

  • Consistently work in various weather conditions
