Job Title: Sanctions Business Analyst

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Sanctions Business Analyst to join our compliance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our organization adheres to international sanctions laws and regulations. This role involves conducting thorough investigations, analyzing transactions, and providing recommendations to mitigate potential risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and implement relevant local and international sanctions laws and regulations within the organization.
  • Conduct due diligence and risk assessments on new and existing clients to identify potential sanctions risks.
  • Analyze and investigate transactions, identifying and escalating potential sanctions violations to the appropriate department.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of sanctions compliance policies and procedures.
  • Provide sanctions compliance training to staff and keep them updated about changes in sanctions laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit necessary reports to regulatory bodies and senior management.
  • Coordinate with various departments within the organization to ensure that business activities are conducted in compliance with sanctions laws and regulations.
  • Review and recommend enhancements to the sanctions screening tools and systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Legal, Financial Services, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as CAMS, CFE, ACAMS, or AML are preferred.
  • Strong understanding of economic sanctions laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in investigative techniques and risk assessment.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of AML/CTF compliance and the USA Patriot Act.
  • Experience with sanctions screening tools and systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
