The Threat Assessment Intelligence Analyst is responsible for assessing risks and developing intelligence data to support strategic decision making. This includes collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to identify trends and potential threats. Identify gaps and vulnerabilities and provide actionable intelligence to improve the Company’s security posture. Collaborates with security and other intelligence agencies to enhance the Company’s ability to respond to threats and security incidents.

Responsibilities:
  • Gather and evaluate intelligence data from a wide range of sources, including open source, classified, and field intelligence.

  • Conduct in depth research, analyze information from various data sources, and assess data to identify emerging threats, trends, or risks that may impact the company, employees, or the industry.

  • Prepare detailed, clear, and accurate intelligence reports, summaries, and briefings for senior leadership or other relevant stakeholders.

  • Partner with internal and external intelligence professionals, law enforcement agencies, military personnel, and stakeholders to share insights and ensure strategic alignment. Cross-functionally collaborate with various team to mitigate threats.

  • Provide actionable recommendations to all levels of leadership based on intelligence findings to support decision-making in policy, operations, and security matters. Contribute to the development of security strategies and plans.

  • Continuously monitor relevant external and internal developments, geopolitical events, and security incidents to maintain situational awareness.

  • Utilize various tools, software, and platforms to gather, analyze, and disseminate intelligence data.

Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED required.

  • Bachelor degree in Political Science, International Relations, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred or relevant experience in lieu of degree.

  • Master's preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in intelligence analysis or a related field.

  • Familiarity with intelligence-gathering platforms, analytical software, and data visualization tools.

Additional Licensing, Certifications, Registrations:
  • Prefer Certified Workplace Violence Threat Specialist.

  • In lieu of certification, required to obtain it w/in a year of employment.

Knowledge:
  • Requires expert proficiency in all MS Office applications such as MS Word and Excel.

  • Requires strong understanding of Confidentiality and relevant Privacy laws and regulations pertaining to investigative practices.

  • Prefers knowledge of E-Discovery tools and efficient query building techniques.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Requires analytical skills leveraging both structured and unstructured data.

  • Proven skills in social media platforms and other open-source information repositories.

  • Requires strong organizational skills including the ability to plan, organize and prioritize work assignments.

  • Knowledge of geopolitical issues, military operations, or security-related topics a plus.

Travel:
  • Will require irregular hours and on-call availability in response to real-time intelligence developments.

Horizon BCBSNJ employees must live in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut or Delaware

Salary Range:

$77,900 - $104,370

​This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity.  This range has been created in good faith based on information known to Horizon at the time of posting.  Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case.
