Job Description:

GDIT has a vacancy for a Network Engineer working remotely. Our work depends on Network Engineers joining our team to design, plan and build communications networks.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
  • Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including routers, switches, firewalls, and remote access systems
  • Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability
  • Assist in the identification and acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed
  • Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks
  • Builds hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
  • Trouble response and resolution as part of a Triage Team assigned as first response to network/system reported problems

HOW A NETWORK ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Responsible for support and maintenance of voice, video, and/or data communications networks
  • Collaborating with ENS peers to solve complex network assignments and trouble shooting
  • Implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
  • Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, switches, DNS and DHCP
  • Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
  • Provides advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of complex network problems
  • Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
  • Contribute to network design documentation and processes

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Required Experience: 6+ years of related experience with a HSD or Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of related experience
  • Required Technical Skills: Routing/Switching, VPNs, Firewalls, DNS, DHCP
  • Required Skills and Abilities: Understanding of network monitoring tools and their operation
  • Preferred Skills: JUNOS, Silver Peak SDWAN, Palo Alto, Aruba Wireless, Zscaler, BGP/OSPF

The likely salary range for this position is $72,509 - $92,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
