Position:             Marketing Specialist
Department:      Marketing and Communications
Reports to:          Director of Content Marketing
Location:             Work from Home/Remote
Compensation:  $59,500 to $70,000 USD

Job Summary:

The Marketing Specialist is part of the international Marketing and Communications team within the Growth group. The team works collaboratively to drive sustainable community growth, position Tessitura's products and services compellingly, and elevate and protect the Tessitura brand.

The Marketing Specialist is a versatile writer who drafts materials including informational copy and blog articles. They collaborate with content stakeholders across the company to create, update, lay out and publish content on Tessitura’s website and other channels.

The Marketing Specialist also assists in developing visual assets ranging from presentations to signage. They help maintain image, video and template libraries. The role aims to communicate information that builds engagement with Tessitura’s member, prospect, partner and other stakeholder audiences.

This position reports to the Director of Content Marketing.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Write compelling content such as success stories and explanatory website copy. Assist in creating growth marketing assets as needed.
  • Support ongoing improvements to Tessitura’s website. This work may include content strategy, content creation, site structure, SEO, copywriting and/or updates to images and videos.
  • Serve as a power user of our content management system, Sitecore, for website content entry, layout, editing and publishing. Participate in testing bug fixes and enhancements.
  • Assist with updating and managing company resources, such as branded templates and image libraries, to enhance and protect Tessitura’s brand.
  • Develop and design simple creative graphics and other visual assets for channels including email, websites, presentations and advertising campaigns.
  • Curate and edit photographs for presentations, websites and other channels.
  • Liaise with external graphic designers, video editors and other contractors as needed.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively across the Marketing team, Growth Group, the entire company and externally. Implement editorial feedback and changes as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Maintain Tessitura’s reputation as a leading service provider with a focus on member needs. Working as a leader, take a broad, strategic, cross-company view in any decisions.
     
  • Improve business, financial and people performance to enhance Tessitura’s ability to strengthen the business of arts and culture. Take accountability for ensuring that all of the company’s policies and practices for people, IT and finance are acted upon in a consistent manner.
     
  • Understand the risks and challenges that face the company as an international organization, taking account of age, disability, gender identity, language, race, religious belief and sexual orientation.
     
  • Support and take personal responsibility for driving Tessitura’s mission, vision and goals, and associated strategies, and have mutual respect and appreciation for everyone’s contribution to the company, offering support and encouragement to others as required.
     
  • As a term of employment, the post holder may be required to undertake such other duties and/or times of work as may reasonably be required commensurate with the general level of responsibility within the company.


Required Skills and Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing or communications roles
  • Ability to write clear, engaging and persuasive copy in multiple formats, including informational content, customer success stories and blog articles
  • Ability to communicate technical information simply and compellingly to all audiences and to go beyond features and specs to communicate benefits
  • Understanding of website content management systems
  • Ability to apply brand guidelines to written and/or visual work
  • Ability to work on a wide variety of tasks and projects concurrently and to prioritize as needed
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and move projects forward
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work calmly, effectively and flexibly in a busy remote work environment
  • Aptitude to pick up new concepts and technology rapidly
  • Capacity to work independently, as well as in a team setting
  • Experience in one or more areas of operations in the arts and culture field (ticketing, fundraising, visitor services, etc.)
  • Understanding of basic graphic design principles
  • Proficiency with basic graphic design tools (for example, Canva, Photoshop and/or InDesign)
