Key Account Sales Manager (m/f/x)
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Key Account Sales Manager for the Abrasive Systems Division in the UK you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
Here, you will make an impact by:
Directly driving sales to exceed targets with our largest regional abrasive converters and robotics/ automation partners
Managing the Key Account sales team for strategic end user accounts across key segments in the UK, including Aerospace, Automotive OEM, Rail and Marine
Working collaboratively with existing and new key accounts to gain a thorough understanding of their abrasive needs and help fulfil these with 3M solutions.
Directly and through team managing clear plans with major key accounts detailing main objectives, assessing and mapping key processes and applications, developing appropriate strategies & tactics for penetration and tracking progress against these through relevant KPI targets
Building a strong pipeline of opportunities into key converters and end users and exceeding closed won targets for new business gained
Building mutually beneficial strategic partnerships with key clients and establishing strong relationships based on trust and loyalty.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:
Proven Key Account Management experience with a track record of growth with large industrial end users and channels.
Tenacious, highly driven and conscientious with ability to navigate pro-actively through complexity.
Excellent commercial acumen and strong negotiation skills.
Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization both externally and internally.
A problem solving mindset with capability to understand relevant industrial manufacturing processes and propose solutions to key customer pain points
Bachelor’s/ Apprenticeship degree or higher from an accredited institution
Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
People management / supervisory experience advantageous but not essential
Job specifics:
Role location/Ideal candidate location - Field based covering the UK - This is a national role allowing for the candidates location anywhere in England, though a relatively central location in terms of travel expectations would be advantageous.
Travel expectations - may include 50%+ domestic
Working pattern - Full-Time
