Senior QA Engineer

Mission set up: Fully remote from Philippines to work on Philippines or European time zone
Mission duration: 3 months renewable
Experience required: 5 years and above

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain manual and automated test plans to ensure the quality of web applications and APIs.
• Define and implement testing strategies for functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
• Actively participate in reviews of functional and technical specifications to identify issues early in the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless integration and high-quality releases.

• Identify, document, and track defects using bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira).

• Maintain and enhance existing automated test suites.

• Promote continuous improvement in QA processes and quality standards.

• Conduct exploratory testing on new features and critical deliveries.

• Participate in automated test code reviews.

• Mentor junior QA team members and support their skill development.

Requirements

• Solid experience in software testing, with hands-on expertise in automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.

• In-depth knowledge of testing methodologies: functional, performance, integration, and load testing.

• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and monitoring tools (Cloudwatch, Xray).

• Proficient with version control systems such as Bitbucket or Git.

• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integrating tests into delivery cycles.

• Proficient in one or more scripting languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.).

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and documentation skills.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Familiarity with SonarQube for code quality analysis.

• Experience in testing RESTful APIs and backend integrations.

• Strong quality mindset with a focus on user experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Knowledge of microservices architecture.

• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or K6.

• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Kubernetes and Docker for test environments.

• ISTQB or similar QA certifications are a plus.
