Job description

This is a remote position.

Job Highlights:

Contract: Independent Contract
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM UK time with 1-hour unpaid break

Executive Summary
A software startup specializing in compliance software for the cosmetics and chemical industries. The software hosts a vast library of chemicals and cosmetic ingredients. 

The Role
We are looking for detail-oriented individuals with a strong sense of accuracy and precision. In this role, you will be responsible for entering a high number of chemicals from international lists into our system. The primary focus is ensuring that substance names and substance identity data are entered correctly. A sound understanding of chemistry and IUPAC naming is therefore essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Entering lists of specific substance identities and matching them with their CAS numbers.
  • Matching chemicals, where equivalent, to those with alternative naming conventions.
  • Distinguishing between INCI names and IUPAC names.
  • Checking large amounts of chemical inventory data for accuracy.

Requirements
  • A university degree in chemistry is ideal. Biochemistry and pharmaceutical science will also be considered.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Previous experience with Excel or Google Sheets required.
