• 20 paid hours per week

Job Description

Take ownership of a crucial technical role where you’ll leverage your architectural and estimation expertise to streamline project quotations for high-value commercial developments and custom residential projects. You’ll work directly with property developers and internal teams, utilizing advanced technical tools to transform complex construction plans into accurate, detailed quotations. This position offers the unique opportunity to impact business efficiency directly, reducing project turnaround times while maintaining precision. The role provides excellent growth potential, starting as a part-time position with a clear pathway to full-time employment for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret complex construction plans and technical documentation from major property developers
  
• Transform site inspection reports and technical drawings into comprehensive cost estimates
  
• Calculate precise material quantities and prepare detailed quotations using specialized estimation tools
  
• Develop accurate quotes for both commercial and residential projects with emphasis on quick turnaround
  
• Utilize AutoCAD to review and verify technical specifications
  
• Process and manage quotations through ServiceM8 system
  
• Perform detailed calculations for various construction components and materials
  
• Prepare technical documentation including OH&S (Occupational health and safety) paperwork
  
• Collaborate with on-site teams to ensure accuracy of specifications
  
• Maintain communication with Australian-based team members regarding project requirements
  

Requirements

• Degree or significant experience in Architecture, Engineering, or related technical field
  
• Proven experience in construction estimation or quantity surveying
  
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and technical drawing interpretation
  
• Demonstrated ability to perform accurate material calculations and cost estimations
  
• Experience with construction or building materials (fencing knowledge is advantageous)
  
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  
• Experience with project management or estimation software (ServiceM8 experience is a plus)
