Information Technology Services (ITS) has a RARE OPPORTUNITY to gain invaluable strategic and technical professional experience in the role of Change Specialist!

As a Change Specialist, you’ll focus on the people side of change by:

  • Creating awareness of the move to new business processes and systems
  • Determining the right time and the right way to let the ISU campus know what’s happening and when it’s happening
  • Helping people transition from the current way of doing things to the new way
  • Tracking the numbers (metrics) related to successful use of the new processes


Examples of what you will do

  • Develop and deploy surveys (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey) to find out how well the move is going.
  • Help determine if our plans are working…or need to be adjusted based on survey feedback.
  • Talk with the people who are navigating the changes and help them shift to the new way of doing things.

While we’d like to have you on campus, we know the last few years have taught us we can still be productive when working remotely, so the Change Specialist position could work fully remote within the state of Iowa.


Example of Duties
• Manages a program to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with the objectives of the university.
• Plans, monitors, and manages an internal or external project from initiation through completion.
• Leads or coordinates project planning, resourcing, and staffing for assigned program.
• Monitors and manages budget and ensures that the program meets the overall objectives of the university.
• Develops public relations initiatives, workshops, seminars, surveys, or other activities to promote the program and carry out its objectives.
• Acts as a representative of the program.
• Participates in project management.

Level Guidelines
• Intermediate-level position with solid professional and/or technical skills working under general supervision to achieve goals
• Applies broad, working knowledge of the principles of the field to moderately complex, difficult, and varied problems and issues
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action and resolve problems
• Responds to a broad range of inquiries and requests
• May provide training and/or direction to lower-level staff
• May lead projects of moderate scope and complexity
• Provides guidance to students

This is a term position, ending December 31, 2026; may be eligible for renewal.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
