Our client is a law firm in California, specializing in Franchise and Distribution Law, with extensive experience representing franchisors, multi-unit franchisees, and companies in the restaurant and retail sectors. They focus on drafting, registering, and reviewing franchise documents and related contracts to support scalable, legally sound business growth. They are currently seeking a remote Paralegal to join their team.

About the role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Paralegal to support our client’s franchise and distribution law practice. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing and filing franchise disclosure documents (FDDs), managing registration renewals, drafting contracts, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills, legal research abilities, and experience in a fast-paced legal environment, preferably within franchising or corporate law.

US Law Firm experience is a plus.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assisting attorneys in the preparation, drafting, and editing of Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs) and related agreements.
  • Managing the registration and renewal process for FDDs across multiple U.S. jurisdictions.
  • Conducting legal research related to federal and state franchise laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Reviewing franchise and commercial contracts for compliance and accuracy.
  • Preparing and organizing documents for franchise-related filings and submissions.
  • Tracking filing deadlines and maintaining up-to-date records of franchise registrations.
  • Coordinating communications with state regulators and clients regarding FDD submissions and status updates.
  • Assisting with due diligence, document collection, and organization during franchise sales or transfers.
  • Supporting the legal team with various administrative tasks, including document management and client correspondence.


Who are we looking for?

  • 2+ years of experience as a Paralegal, ideally in franchise or corporate law.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology and processes related to franchising and regulatory filings.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Comfortable working remotely and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal document management tools.
  • A proactive team player who takes initiative and thrives in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a US law firm is a plus.

 

Position: Paralegal

Remote Status: Fully Remote

Preferred Location: Latin America

Working Hours: 9 am to 6 pm PT

Holidays: Local US Holidays 

Salary: USD 1400 to USD 1800 per month
