Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a Tier III Help Desk Technician to provide technical troubleshooting, user testing, and quality assurance for a critical defense logistics application. This position plays a key role in ensuring the stability and functionality of an inventory management system supporting military logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, a detail-oriented approach, and a solid understanding of inventory management and transactional data exchanges. This role works as part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to support daily production operations, improve test processes, and implement system enhancements.

As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these are, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), and staying focused on the assigned task including company meetings, and completing other tasks as assigned. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier III Help Desk support to troubleshoot user-reported issues and escalate JIRA tickets to third-party vendors as necessary
  • Coordinate with developers to help resolve application bugs and system inefficiencies
  • Conduct user testing, regression testing, and functional validation of system features and updates
  • Develop and maintain test scripts and Functional Validation Guides (Use Cases)
  • Monitor testing outcomes and assist in resolving application issues
  • Create and deliver detailed test results and performance reports, including lessons learned, corrective actions, and process improvement recommendations
  • Act as a subject matter expert on testing protocols, Help Desk procedures, and inventory management workflows
  • Recommend and support process improvements to increase system efficiency and reduce user errors
  • Assist in the development of Functional Validation Guides (FVGs), Test Plans, and Help Desk SOPs

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience with Total Ammunition Management Information System (TAMIS) and OIS-MC data exchanges
  • Familiarity with Supported Unit ammunition forecasting requirements
  • Proficient in user testing, regression testing, and test documentation
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative IPT environment
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen 
  • If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of USMC ammunition inventory processes and related Warehouse or Inventory Management Systems (WMS/IMS)
  • Background in supply chain, logistics, or defense operations
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies
  • Prior experience in government or DoD IT environments
