The Senior IT Systems Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing IT solutions, automating systems, supporting end users, and ensuring the efficiency, stability, and security of IT services. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem solver with deep technical expertise and a passion for mentoring team members and driving process improvements.  

Responsibilities:

  • Endpoint Management: Lead the implementation and administration of MDM and EDR platforms to ensure endpoint security and compliance across the organization.
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop scripts to automate virtual desktop deployments, software installations, and identity/access processes, with integration into systems like Jira.
  • System Maintenance: Automate OS updates, application patching, and software provisioning to maintain system health and minimize disruption.
  • Technical Support: Triage and resolve complex hardware, software, and networking issues, prioritizing tickets based on SLAs and business impact.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed technical documentation and contribute to internal knowledge base resources to support consistent, scalable IT practices.
  • Team Mentorship: Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to junior IT team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to support broader IT initiatives and improve the overall user experience.

Qualifications:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with MDM/endpoint tools such as Intune, NinjaOne, or Kandji. Deep expertise in Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and Azure environments.
  • Infrastructure Knowledge: Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Entra ID. Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Scripting: Experience with PowerShell for system automation and configuration management.
  • Tool Familiarity: Comfortable using remote support solutions and service desk platforms, particularly Jira Service Desk.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with a client-focused approach to internal service delivery.
  • Flexibility: Able to adapt quickly in a dynamic IT environment with shifting priorities and evolving technologies.
