Key responsibilities:
Provide on-call interpreting support for telephonic court hearings as needed.
Interpret verbal communication clearly and accurately without additions or omissions.
Convey the tone, emotions, and intent of the speaker from the source language to the target language.
Inform relevant parties of any factors that may affect interpreting performance.

PGLS is looking for Court certified/registered Interpreters in WA State or in other states but with experience in WA State legal proceedingsto provide on-call support for clients, assisting with telephonic court hearings cases as needed. Interpreters must have the flexibility to work on assignments based on court requirements, with advanced notice typically provided several weeks in advance. Occasional urgent assignments may also arise.

Requirements
• Serve as an Interpreter between a wide range of people with diverse voices, accents, speaking tempos and personalities.
• Provide parties with clear and exact interpretations of verbal communication with no additions or omissions.
• Provide interpretations of questions, answers, statements, arguments, explanations, and other forms of verbal communication.
• Impart thought, purpose, spirit, emotions, and tone of speaker from source language into target language, and vice-versa.
• Inform relevant parties of any factor that may hinder your performance.
• Comply with applicable ethics and standards.
Qualifications:
Court Certification or registration in the State of WA or from another state but with experience in WA court proceedings.
Certified interpreter (Federal or Court) or at least one year of judicial interpreting experience.
Proficiency in legal, criminal justice, and immigration terminology in both languages.
Ability to maintain a professional tone, speed, and pace while interpreting.
Fluency in both Native language and English, with cultural understanding.
