Position Overview:

The VP, Transaction Management (Attorney) position manages the company’s various transaction management initiatives, including but not limited to negotiation of securitization documentation, Mortgage Loan Purchase Agreements, Mortgage Servicing Rights Purchase and Sale Agreements, trade settlement documentation, vendor agreements, and other bespoke agreements or requirements to support various origination and acquisition channels. This position utilizes exceptional communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders across all levels in the primary and secondary mortgage markets both within and outside of the company. The VP, Transaction Management disseminates insights across departments to achieve more holistic and creative solutions aligned with the organization's strategic objectives. This position works closely with various departments within the asset manager and mortgage company to design workflows, streamline operations, and drive innovation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements to support secondary mortgage marketing activities including whole loan sales, mortgage servicing rights, and securitizations.

  • Manage relationships with counterparties, including buyers, sellers, and servicers.

  • Conduct compliance research on loan-level and securitization-related regulatory requirements.

  • Assist in managing legal and compliance projects to support business objectives.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations, and risk management teams.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

  • 2-5 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.

  • Experience in mortgage finance, securitization, or structured finance, preferred.

  • Exceptional contract negotiation and drafting skills.

  • Skilled at analyzing regulatory requirements and providing practical compliance guidance.

  • Business acumen and knowledge of the intersection of law and finance.

  • Excellent communication skills.

Pay Range: 

  • Annual Compensation: 175,000.00-225,000.00

The posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position
