About The Role

Tropic is looking for a detail-oriented and process-driven Revenue Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. In this role, you’ll own and enhance key components of the Order-to-Cash cycle—covering contract review, billing, revenue recognition, cash application, and collections. You’ll also play a critical part in supporting commissions, systems enhancements, and audit readiness. This is a high-impact opportunity to scale accounting operations in a fast-growing, venture-backed SaaS startup.

What You'll Do

  • Own and optimize Tropic’s Order-to-Cash workflows for our B2B SaaS business
  • Review and approve sales contracts, ensuring accuracy in sales orders, invoices and revenue recognition within NetSuite
  • Oversee invoice issuance, cash application, A/R management and collections with the support of accounting consultant
  • Execute month-end close activities related to revenue, deferred revenue and commissions, including journal entries, reconciliations and reporting
  • Collaborate with GTM, Finance and RevOps teams to implement commission plan changes, track attainment and report final payouts to Payroll
  • Maintain critical process documentation utilizing tools like Scribe and Guru
  • Contribute to systems enhancements, automation efforts and special projects

What You’ve Done

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 2+ years of experience in a revenue accounting or revenue operations role; SaaS and ASC 606 experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with SaaS contracts, subscription models, and deal desk processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sharp attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and G Suite
  • Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce is a plus
  • Startup or high-growth company experience is a big plus

Compensation

  • Specific to pay transparency laws, the anticipated salary range for this position is $75,000 to $95,000 and will include incentive stock options, and benefits. The final job level and compensation will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, years of relevant experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, geographic location, and other business considerations.
