The VEV Technician is supporting testing activities, is responsible for preparing everything need to execute vehicle test operations and bench tests, to achieve the validation of vehicles and components, as well as support activities to reduce costs, improve quality and safety.
Responsibilities
Support vehicle testing:
Drive vehicles for transportation, testing and group support purposes.
Replace and repair vehicle systems or parts requested.
Prepare and inspect fleet vehicles and ensure they are fir for driving (Safety inspection checklist)
Support vehicle “fit for test” activities.
DV Testing
Prepare and configure test setups.
Perform tests.
Record results
Calibrate and maintain test devices and equipment.
Document data and photography of the test setup and results
Work on the material and parts allocation to build breadboard test benches.
Assemble the structure and build the breadboards and test benches.
Support harness reworks.
Support Electrical testing.
Support test engineers on the test setup.
Support on harness preparation and teardown for testing
Material Handling:
Retrieve materials or parts from warehouse.
Store materials or parts in adequate locations
Document and communicate all material handling processes with team leaders.
Qualifications
Technical career completed (Automotive Mechanics, Instrumentalist Mechanics, Electromechanical Maintenance)
Know and identify the main functions and components of the systems and subsystems that make up a vehicle with a gasoline, diesel or alternative fuel engine.
Knowledge of electricity and basic electronics for the handling of instrumentation and interpretation of diagrams.
Computer skills. Basic applications of Windows, Excel, Internet.
Basic knowledge of quality systems such as ISO-9001:2000, ISO14000 and ISO17025.
Reading and basic understanding of technical manuals and drawings in English language.
Operation and maintenance of equipment, electronic and/or electromechanical systems.
Handling of measuring instruments (gauges, micrometers, Vernier, dial indicators, etc.).
Wish:
Basic knowledge of trigonometry and geometry
Basic knowledge of the English language.
Knowledge to work in metric system and English system
Use of diagnostic tools used in the automotive industry.
