The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Loyalty and Retention Manager to join Postmedia’s growing subscriptions team. Customer engagement and subscriber retention are key focus areas for Postmedia brands, and we are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the team.

Reporting to the Director, Digital Acquisition, the individual will be responsible for the creation and execution of billing and renewal, retention and engagement campaigns for both print and digital products. You will use retention, churn, engagement and CLV trend analysis to identify opportunities for test-and-learn campaigns to reduce churn and increase engagement with our products and services, including website, app, newsletter and online tools.

You will also be a key collaborator with the product and strategy team, incorporating your marketing expertise with ongoing content-focused engagement and retention strategies. Finally, you will also be tasked to provide analysis and insights to the senior management team.

What you'll do:

  • Working with product and strategy teams, co-own the end-to-end strategy, execution and performance of loyalty and retention programs and campaigns across all platforms including emails and onsite promotional units
  • Maintain existing campaign creative and ensure it meets brand standards and reflect current accurate product information
  • Work with data science team to create audience segmentation models, and messaging for test and learn campaigns
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure creative, target audiences and workflows are set up correctly and that campaigns are deployed on time
  • Create and execute billing and renewal campaigns ensure accuracy and timely deployment
  • Collaborate with subscription sales, customer care, and finance to gain insights and identify opportunities to improve retention and better understand customer pain points
  • Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Create reports and analysis and present findings to leadership
  • Support the marketing director with upsell and bundling initiatives.

Who you are:

  • Undergraduate degree in business or a related discipline
  • Solid foundation for data analysis — ability to measure, report, and pivot results as well as make data-informed decisions
  • Have 3-5 years of work experience in marketing, specifically in base management and retention strategies
  • Ability to zoom in and out, balancing both strategy and marketing execution
  • Self-starter and ability to manage competing priorities and multiple brand initiatives
  • Demonstrated familiarity and interest in news and media
  • Strong people skills, ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders, and ability to work within a team
  • Detail-oriented and don’t let any small details fall through the cracks
  • Familiar with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Tableau and DOMO
