About the Role

The SAP ABAP developer will analyze, architect, develop, and support the ABAP operations for the Auto Digital SIOP. This role will also act as a subject matter expert on projects or programs that require changes or enhancements related to SAP ABAP.  This will have a constant collaboration with the internal SIOP analyst, architects, and a set of service providers/contractors that will be engaged when working on projects, service requests, and incidents that require ABAP intervention.

What You Will Do

• Architect, design, program, and transfer of business requirements in the areas of SAP ABAP Programming, like ABAP Reporting, Dialogue programming, Forms, Workflow, etc
• Troubleshoot complex & SAP standard application, functional, and technical issues and define and document technical requirements, drive solutions for process improvements, and architect solutions that require ABAP programming
• Support business users daily; maintain up-to-date working knowledge of business processes and systems, and provide integration support to trading partners
• Responsible for writing Technical Design, Designing and developing a Solution, and Testing
• Do the peer review for SIOP developments, guide junior resources, provide End-to-end support of SAP ABAP across SAP supply chain modules & ecommerce
• Lead the design and development for IBP Integration with ECC to synchronously communicate with IBP with real-time integration
• Ability to quickly learn and gear up CPI (middleware) concepts to sandwich between IBP and ECC.
• Performs or coordinates functionality tests of new and updated applications and systems to verify that desired results are achieved. Evaluates results and coordinates or makes modifications to improve system performance. Creates test plans as required. Participates in application updates and upgrade projects.
• Follows & revises established methodologies during system development and ensures systems adhere to the Harman ABAP standards and procedures established by the Digital department. Develops and maintains all system-related documentation

What You Need to Be Successful

• Minimum 7 - 9 years of deep experience on ABAP development, including forms, interfaces, conversions, reports, enhancements, workflow, Extractors
• Must have experience in converting functional specifications to technical specifications, coding, unit testing, and documentation of custom development
• Required skills – SAP ABAP Reporting, Dialogue programming, LSMW, BDC, BAPI, Data Dictionary, Smart Forms, SAP Scripts, RFCs, Object Oriented ABAP, Workflow, ALE IDOC, EDI, OData, ABAP Proxy, XML-based integrations, etc., optimizing existing code for better performance
• Have a solid understanding of middleware like CPI, SDI, PI/PO, SOAP, and File transfers
• Understanding of the SAP IBP module with experience in CPI concepts will be of added advantage
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including the proven ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment and work on multiple projects

Bonus Points if You Have

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computers, Information Technology, or related field
• Experience in developing ABAP objects for SAP-IBP will add more weightage
• Experience in SAP CPI DS in managing task and process chains
• SAP ECC functional experience on SAP modules IBP and Ariba is a Plus
• BI and Analytics experience, Confluence or Jira Knowledge
• Formal Problem-solving training, certifications, or related experience
