This is a remote position open to candidates residing in Illinois

Unified Mammography Services (UMAMS), a subsidiary of Unified Women’s Healthcare, is a comprehensive solution for in-office Mammography services. We utilize top-of-the-line equipment and expert staff with exceptional standards of care. Embedded within our network of affiliated OBGYN provider practices, this offers patients an intimate and familiar in-office environment, offering a convenient one-stop solution for well-women visits and annual screening mammograms.

Unified Mammography Services is seeking a Multi-Center Breast Imaging Coordinator for its Mammography office at an affiliated practice in Hoffman Estates, Vernon Hills, and Chicago, IL.

The Multi-Center Breast Imaging Coordinator efficiently and accurately schedules embedded breast imaging within OB/GYN offices and maintains high-quality services across multiple locations. This central role coordinates patients, referring physicians, imaging, and administrative staff through streamlined processes, clear communication, managing patient flow, and protocol adherence, supporting overall operational success.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for efficient, expedient, and accurate scheduling.
  • Utilize EMR reporting and patient schedules to determine when a patient is due for imaging.
  • Effectively communicates with patients, families, healthcare team members and via telephone.
  • Requests an accurate clinical history as necessary for the exam.
  • Provides instructions and exam-specific preparations to the individual scheduling the procedure.
  • Obtain information regarding the patient's prior studies and send the release.
  • Email patient paperwork via EMR if applicable.
  • Reviews and evaluates scheduled appointments for completeness and type of test ordered. Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and policy.
  • Obtain Patient demographic information and insurance information from individual scheduling.
  • Receives physician orders and schedules procedures by both telephone and electronic media. Obtains provisional diagnosis and patient history to substantiate the requested procedure.
  • Schedules follow-up Mammo and ultrasound appointments
  • Contacts “No Shows” on a weekly basis to reschedule their procedures.
  • Determines reason for appointment cancellation for data collection.
  • Communicates scheduling concerns or problems to the office manager or UMAMS Manager.
  • Understands and follows HIPAA compliance.
  • Performs all other job-related duties as assigned or requested by the office manager to support scheduling.

Additional Job Functions:

  • Attend Unified and UMAMS meetings as required.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills.
  • Possesses knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurance.
  • Adheres to all HIPAA requirements.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Mammography Operations Manager, Director of Imaging Operations, or Care Center Administrator to ensure efficient departmental operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office or radiology setting is required.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Proficient computer skills are required.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of general insurance verification processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Compensation Minimum

USD $22.00/Hr.

Compensation Maximum

USD $25.00/Hr.
