In this role, you will:
Be accountable for managing experienced professionals or multiple service delivery teams, achieving objectives, providing technical guidance, and ensuring performance efficiency while adhering to quality standards, making decisions on hiring, promotion, and performance with senior leadership approval, fostering teamwork and innovation, operating within financial guidelines, and contributing to budget planning and financial reporting
Ability to identify complex, unclear problems, conduct extensive analysis in unfamiliar areas, and develop innovative, collaborative solutions by balancing technical inputs with strategic objectives, using advanced skills and independent judgment to predict outcomes, with escalation for alignment with business unit goals;
Manage publishing aspects of projects to help ensure practical, results-driven planning and efficient product development;
Work with Change Management to assess the readiness of projects for the publishing team to start on, including resolution of questions on roles, resourcing, project scope, and deliverables;
C ollaborate with stakeholders including Program, Supply Chain Management, Publishing Team, and other departments as appropriate to develop product specifications and advise on branded, accessible, cohesive, audience-friendly product lines across physical, digital, and web products;
Elicit Publishing Team feedback and expertise regarding deliverables, timelines, resources needed, and content and design approaches, and represent the Publishing Team in project negotiations as needed;
Contribute to Publishing Team standards for creating accessible, inclusive content, and expand the Publishing Team’s expertise in publishing accessible online courses, classroom courses, printed documents, electronic documents, and audio and video file
What we are looking for:
A minimum of 6 years experience and a university degree and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May require a graduate diploma/degree in a related field and/or a professional degree, certification, or designation. Requires expertise in a specialized discipline or broad experience across fields, along with an understanding of interconnections between processes and business units to provide effective leadership
Must understand the stages of content production, publishing, and related processes, including instructional design, writing, copyediting, design, layout, reviewing and commenting, printing, distribution, inventory management, etc.; the roles and responsibilities involved; and industry standards for creating useful, accessible products.
Must be familiar with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office applications (including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint).
Working Conditions:
The majority of the work is performed in an environment which is mostly clean and comfortable in a remote environment. Some travel may be required.
All teams contributing to emergency response efforts directly or indirectly.
All CRC roles are required to adapt work and priorities to support emergency response efforts, be present in person as required to support service delivery and deploy to emergency responses when appropriate and/or required (personnel availability and request for exceptions will be discussed with line management).
For CRC roles that are assigned a function in the Emergency Relief operational structure (in field and virtual), personnel may be required to be part of an on-call roster and be available for scheduled on-call work.
