Job description

As a data engineer lead or consultant (ML/AI) on the dynamic Data Mergers and Acquisition Strategy and Delivery team, you’ll help engineer the future of data at Progressive and acquired companies by understanding and addressing critical data engineering needs. You’ll collaborate directly with the DATA Fit Team and business partners to understand the critical data needs following mergers and acquisitions. You'll transform these requirements into cutting-edge data engineering solutions that ensure data flows seamlessly and efficiently to our customers. As a key player, you'll work alongside a talented cross-functional team of Data Architects, Systems Analysts, Solution Architects, and Process Analysts. Together, you'll craft strategic plans that drives the execution and delivery of automated data solutions to our business partners. You’ll tackle complex data challenges with innovative solutions, designing and building robust data pipelines and automation solutions. You’ll utilize machine learning and AI technologies to enhance data flow, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of insights to customers. You’ll also create tools and options for our business to improve the accessibility, and usage of the data.

This is a remote position for US based work only.

Must-have Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in an Information Technology discipline or related field of study and minimum of five years of work experience designing, programming, and supporting software programs or applications.
  • In lieu of degree, minimum of six years related work experience designing, programming, and supporting software programs or applications may be accepted.

Preferred Skills

  • AI/ML Platform Skills: Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and Azure for building AI/ML platforms. Familiar with tools like Terraform and Helm for infrastructure management.
  • Programming and Automation: Strong skills in Python and Linux scripting. Experience in automating data and ML/AI solutions using tools like Prefect and Snowflake.
  • Real-Time Data and ML Models: Ability to handle high-volume real-time data
  • CI/CD and Engineering Support: Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Azure DevOps. Background in supporting multiple teams in the business units
  • Team Collaboration: Demonstrated success in collaborating effectively with data engineers, data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders. Exhibits a strong receptiveness to feedback and excels in navigating and resolving ambiguity
  • Systems Thinking: Demonstrated capability to conceptualize and implement systems thinking strategies to enhance data engineering processes and overall operational efficiency

Compensation

  • $144,360 - $170,600/year depending on position level and experience
  • Gainshare annual cash performance incentive payment up to 40-45% (depending on position level) of your eligible earnings based on company performance
